Ultrarunner's notes

 "Kati, K100 Virtual, fancy joining?" "Sure!" In two weeks: "Kati, I have a foot and heel injury, I'm gonna be out of training for at least two months.. 😔" "And I'm in (Covid) quarantine for two weeks again..." "Ah, ok... let's forget about that." The following week: "So I'm rehabbing and strengthening the foot.. and it's 80 percent better!" "I'm going for a (Covid) test on Monday, if it's negative, then we'll go on the 13th!" And so we went.    Since we wanted to comply with the (Covid) current measures and regulations, I am planning a beautiful course for us within Liptov region, hoping that the trail will be runnable and won't be covered with a meter deep snow, neither with any ice. I have several alternatives ready in my head that we can use operationally, depending on the conditions on the given day. I love planning running trips 😀 I'm sending a mapped route to Katarína ...

 Covid canceled many races that year and also both dates of the Ultralanovka for Plamienok (Lanovka stands for Cable car and Plamienok is an organization in Slovakia that helps families with seriously and terminally ill children to spend their time together at home, not in a hospital. They provide palliative care to those children at home. Ultralanovka is an event that takes place under a Cable car at Koliba - Kamzik in Bratislava and the whole income from the event goes to Plamienok. People can contribute to this by renting runner's legs). There was also a ban on going out and traveling outside the district due to Covid, but the Ultralanovka organizer allowed registered runners to run it individually and virtually, either directly on Kamzík in Bratislava or on a route with similar parameters in the area of each individual's home. I'm looking out of the office window at the hill above Liptovský Mikuláš, called Háj-Nicovô, and I'm straight away checking its parameters in...

 I ran this race in 2019, under the name Zázrivský Ultratrail back then (and the year before that as Púpovský Heavy Half – 26km track, within the Zázrivská inversia event). The organizers Aďka and Janko Jogošíkovci and their friend David are walking twinkling hearts who organize their race with love and 150% commitment and it can be seen in all the details, the atmosphere and even the very good weather they always book. It was no different this year either, they even arranged the date of the race for me right on my birthday 😄 Thank you. I am welcome 😅.
